INVESTIGATION CONCEPT ME AND ME IN BERLIN

je oller je toller
LIFE IS............................................................................................................
Passing scars and shadows, I’m searching a straight line, something clear.
Berlin is chaos just like me. There are also a lot of lines and straight characters in this town. I hate these chacracters but I suffer from the same habits. Compulsively I trace out the lines for myself , they are destructive or out of reach.
Whatever I do, I don’t fit between these lines which I dictate myself. Then I start tracing out lines again and erase them afterwards. It’s like I’m pitching above my head every day.
Lines are drawn, people get separated. A line as a scar.
Berlin has scratches, wounds and lines as no other city, markers from the past. Berlin is still busy erasing these lines.
I also keep erasing and scratching.
The stupity is only one’s own.
Shit
Fearfully
Dirty
Lovelly
Painfull
Long, to die hopefully takes shorter.

LIFE IS........................................................................... NADA
The collection has its origin in Berlin, I lived there for half a year.
I was inspired by the clothes in the streets, the people there are wearing a lot of uniforms.
The clothes are also inspired by the history of Berlin, including the military history for example the uniforms of the DDR, but also the second-hand military clothes that you see a lot in the streets of Kreuzberg. The collection has angular forms; this is symbolic for the lines you draw in your life and the lines that are drawn in the city of Berlin.
In a lot of the clothes parts are left out (holes), this is because of the erasing incidents in your life. There is also a suit that is made of little pieces fabric they follow the growth direction of hair on the body. That represents the growing of ideas in life. The T-shirt with the belly –bag is saying: you always carry your emotional bagage with you.
The prints of the collection are made of scratches and lines, made with marker and ballpoint. They explain the feeling of the scratches and lines that you draw in your life. The duck-tape is for fixing the scars that you get along the way. The elastic on the outside of the clothes are explaining that you don’t fit in and make a new one (Stretchy Idea’s). The dress with the elastics has the form of muscles because, you have to have strength to survive. I used wood print with scratches in the collection because of the saying “Knock On Wood”, if you don’t want something bad to happen. A failure label-ribbon refers to the medals on uniforms, but here it is failure label-ribbon and that is a medal for a everyday life.
