Mijn collecties zijn een reactie op een wereld die perfect wil en pretendeert te zijn. Terugkerende onderwerpen in haar werk zijn de dood, anatonomie boeken, angst, haar verzameling medeschepselen, filosofie, psychologie en muziek. Hip Hop, zangeres Nico, Frank Zappa, porno, graffiti, werkkleding, Hardcore, afgetrapte paupers, grote ellende, kleine ellende en alles wat imperfect is.
Imperfecties zijn een belangerijk onderwerp in mijn werk, maar ook in de kleding zelf. Het zoeken naar een voor mij nieuw realistischer schoonheidsbeeld als reaktie op het hedendaagse modebeeld. Hiermee bedoel ik afstand nemen, als buitenstaander kijken en er tegenin gaan. Dit geldt nadrukkelijk ook ten opzichte van mijn eigen beeldvorming. Negatieve eigenschappen en uiterlijkheden tot schoonheid verheffen. De aantrekkingskracht en mijn verslaving voor het duistere: het uitpluizen en de worsteling van mijn eigen psyche. Het spelen met clichés en kijken hoe mensen daar op reageren.
Mijn laatste twee collecties gaan over mijn indrukken van steden waar ik periode gewoond heb. Hoe de mensen die er wonen en ik zich er in begeven. De geschiedenis, de kleding die ik daar vond, de kunstenaars die daar gewerkt en gewoond hebben, de muziek, filosofie en de clichés werden in de collecties verwerkt. Dit leidde tot rauwe, boze collecties met humor, die je aan het denken zetten en je verwarren.
Dordrecht is mijn thuishaven, voor mij een belangerijke plek ook voor mijn werk. Dordrecht is een werkstad er zijn geen studenten maar heel veel nobele wilden. Ik word niet afgeleid door trends die mij mee kunnen slepen. Het is de stad van de helaasheid der dingen, de matten (kapsels) en de stad waar de frikandel vandaan komt. Daarnaast woon ik elk jaar een periode in een andere grote stad, because you can not stand still & rot.

Recurring themes in her work are death, anatomy books, fear, philosophy, psychology, music, and her collection of fellow creatures. Hip Hop, 80s pop star Nico, Frank Zappa, porn, graffiti, work clothes, Hardcore, worn out paupers, great misery, small misery, and everything that's imperfect.
Imperfections are an important subject in my work, but also in the clothes themselves. The search for a new, realistic beauty image in response to the contemporary fashion image. Wit this I mean take some distance, look at it from an outsider's perspective, and go against it. This also applies explicitly with regard to the formation of my own perception and imagery. Elevate negative traits and appearances to beauty. My attraction and addiction to the dark side: the sifting of and the struggle with my own psyche. Playing with clichés and see how people respond.
My last two collections are about my impressions of the cities that I lived in for a while. How inhabitants and I situate ourselves. The history, the clothes that I found there, the artists who worked and lived there, the music, philosophy, and clichés were all part of the collections. This led to raw, angry yet humorous collections, which make you think, and also confused you.
Dordrecht is my home base, and it's an important place for me as well as my work. Dordrecht is a work city, there are no students, but many noble savages. I'm not distracted by trends that can drag me along. It's the city of misfortune and mullets (haircut), and the city that the frikandel (fried meat) hails from. Every year, I live in another major city for a while, because you can not stand still & rot.
